   1. Screen Printing

Screen Printing (also known as Silk Screening) is a printing process for use with clothing and non-clothing items. It's the standard printing method for the T-shirt industry.  In a nut shell, ink is passed through an affixed stencil (screen) with the use of a rubber squeegee. To get the design in the screen, a quality black and white positive is made of each design color. With light exposure to a photosensitive screen, each image is burned into place. Therefore, if any changes are to be made to a design, it should be done prior to screen exposure. Click here for more info on Underbases & Flashing, Positives & Screen Setups.

Copyrighted Define Normal Design

This process uses up to 6 spot colors of your choice per design. For black shirts: 5 colors plus white. Colors are bold and bright, edges are clean. Most designs can be printed using Spot Colors. This is our most popular printing process. Click here for offered Ink Colors.

   2. Digital Transfer:

Copyrighted Image of Define Normal

Digital Transfer has really advanced over the years. More and more screen printers are offering this service. Full color photographic images, personalization, and 1 Day turn around are some of the reasons why this process is so appealing. The Pros: This process requires no setup fees if a high resolution design is submitted. There is an unlimited number of colors to work with. Detail is even more crisp than screen printing. Great for printing just 1 T-shirt! It's Economical.
The Cons: Only light colored T-shirts can be printed upon. Garment must be dried immediately after first time washing.

   3. Embroidery:

Define Normal Embroidered Design

Embroidery is great for any clothing and non-clothing item: from Caps and Pique Polos to Towels and Bags. It's great for that professional look. We accept small orders and large corporate orders alike. After setup, we'll have your logo on file for use on any sized, any itemed future order. Colors: up to 7. Click here for offered Thread Colors.

   4. Pricing:

For all pricing, there are a few factors that determine the final cost:

  1. The Number of Garments (More shirts = Less Cost per shirt)

  2. The Garment Style and Quality (i.e.: T-shirt vs. Sweatshirt or Heavyweight vs. Beefy T)

  3. The Color of Garment (Whites are Least Expensive, Darks are More Expensive)

  4. The Number of Colors in a Design (Less Colors = Less Cost per shirt)

  5. The Positioning, Sizing, and Number of Prints per Garment (i.e.: Front, Back, Sleeve)

  6. Shirt Size(s) (2XL and up are More Expensive)

  7. Printing Process (i.e.: Spot Color Screen Printing, Digital, Embroidery

To receive an accurate quote, please submit the above criteria or fill out one of our Quotes Forms and email a copy of your design (or a description of it).

   5. Turn Around Time:

Most jobs are completed within 1 week. The average job takes 2 to 3 business days. If final vector artwork is submitted, some jobs can be shipped out the next day. Rush fees may apply for 1 to 2 day service.

   6. Shipping:

Our standard shipping is with (2 to 3 business day) Priority Mail through the United States Postal Service. Forget having to drive down to a warehouse to pick up a car full of boxes, we ship right to you. Shipping is included with select printing specials. Inquire now, Toll Free: 1-888-395-7853.

   7. File Formats & Artwork:

Files are best submitted in a vector-based format using CorelDRAW version 7 and up (CDR), Adobe Illustrator version 10 and down (AI) or (EPS) with text saved as outlines or curves. We prefer vector based images, unless hardcopy positives are provided for us. Vector images are different than raster or pixel-based images (i.e.: .jpg, .gif, .tif) in that vector images are created with mathematical precision. Files can be easily manipulated and resized without loss of quality; text and edges are crisp and clean. Due to file size, please do not submit pixel-based files saved as EPS files - this is for vector files only. Also, once your images are in a pixel-based format, they cannot be saved as true-vector files unless they are recreated from scratch by drawing them in one of the aforementioned programs. Note: some Microsoft Word clipart and text is in a vector-based format. So, you can try sending those attachments over.

- Underbases & Flashing, Positives & Screen Setups

If you are submitting a pixel-based file (JPG, GIF, TIF, BMP, or PNG), please make sure that resolution is above 220 DPI at the final dimensions of your design. We can generally make use of pixel-based designs for simple 1 color or multicolor digital transfer jobs. If you have a multicolored pixel-based image and/or do not have your image(s) in the required format, we charge $45 an hour for vectorization. We also offer design assistance and touchups... and can help you design your ideas from scratch. If you'd like to find out more about digital transfer, please inquire. There are no screen setup fees for digital transfer. This process creates nearly identical, crisp, quality prints... but are limited to white or beige, or light grey colored shirts. The garments last over time, but upon first washing must be dried in a tumble dryer immediately after getting wet in order to lock in colors.

About Fonts:

For vector-based Adobe Illustrator files, please right-click on all areas of text, then choose the option to convert to "Outline." Or, you can attach the font separately by finding them in your C: Drive > Widows > Font folder. If including fonts as attachments, we are on PCs and therefore only accept PC fonts. You can choose from a limited list of fonts on our screenprinting quotes form page -  or you can request a PC font by name. We have about 20,000 fonts. In addition, you can go to the free font website: acidfonts.com. You can choose a font from the site and let us know which one you've chosen. The steps above will make for clean T-shirt printing.
